Actually, I do play it, my BL_ID is 5368, and thank you very much I know quite a bit about this game. And how is having a server running on our servers overkill?
What are you doing a VPS?

My physical and set ram were both 512MB.
I didn't use a GUI.
I used java -Xincgc -Xmx512M -jar craftbukkit.jar
Why else would I have to check task manager to see how much memory is being used?

Using a VPS is just not appropriate for a single Blockland server
