Generally people chose an avatar on these forums based on whatever they presently like, regardless of them knowing that it represents them.

My avatar greatly represents what I currently like, even down to the tea drinking.

Avatars don't have to represent anything, they're just a way of personalization.

If everybody had the same avatar, things would be dull. Foruming tends to be more fun when you have more to personalize. This is why forum themes are popular.

I'm pretty sure you're just not reading the context correctly.

I was calling HIS avatar stupid, and that stupid over-used avatars = uncreative and usually stupid people. I never said anything about expressing yourself or any of that other bullstuff.
