In what way is that easier now?
The input is expected in the format of 1 pixel per colour, with no margin or padding.
Of course you could take a screenshot and "photoshop" it, but that would probably require even more work than doing it manually.

Also, as I see it, this requires more work to steal a colorset than the regular way of doing it.

Eyedropper and new image are very handy tools.
