AMD or Intel?

I read somewhere that intel is faster (does more loops or something), but amd does more work per loop, so it more or less evens out.

AMD processors, basically you get what you pay for. From what I know, AMD processors hotter, usually don't perform as well as Intel processors, but are cheaper in price.

Intel processors are more expensive, but worth it. They run cooler than similar AMD processors, run faster, but cost more.

It used to be the complete opposite a few years ago, actually, but I'm not taking sides. AMD's good if you're trying to save money, Intel's good if you have enough money to spend.

I've had bad experiences with AMD. (Not supporting games, crashing, heat, etc)

Haven't had any problems with Intel except my mobo didn't support it right out of the box.

I prefer Intel solely on the fact that it's higher grade and has a better reliability rate than AMD.

My friend at school, who keeps nagging about how I should make a Minecraft dedicated, keeps boasting about how it would be oh so cheaper if I bought a Bulldozer AMD processor that's coming soon.  Too bad I don't really give a flying forget about AMD and haven't since my last and only AMD processor which was back in 2008.
