The Republic of Clipton is a tiny, safe nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its compassionate, cynical population of 9 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Retail and Furniture Restoration.
Elections have been outlawed, military spending recently hit a new high, military spending is on the increase, and organ donation is compulsory. Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Clipton's national animal is the Dragon (because I'm using the Wales flag), and its currency is the Clip.
Clipton is ranked 764th in Democratium and 46,224th in the world for Best Weather.
