Why do people make "RP" servers?

Structure, realism (with a limit) and some good humour here and there. I mean what is an RP without a bit of humour? :3

RP servers are made because people have bland lives and need roleplays to feel like thier lives actually have something interesting in them.

Sounds like the reaction as to why people watch reality shows that have no actual representation of that area.
