Self Delete is natural selection. It roots out the weak-willed trash that humanity doesn't need so we can eventually become a super-race of unbreakable will beings.

If all the depressed people killed themselves, more would be born. I don't think suicidal tenancies are a matter of genetics. All that would happen would a bunch of people would die and nothing would come out of it for the species.

You shouldn't spend it on that, don't spend it on very expensive stuff, games are ok, but you should save it up for when you're at college, and if you get qualified, you can get a job that can easily earn back that 90,000 dollars.

Self Delete is for cowards IMO.

Self Delete is for cowards IMO.

Or

To keep their dignity intact.

To escape torture and making sure they don't leak out any secret information to the enemy.

To save some other person's life by sacrificing their own.

No cowards there.

1, 2 are dumb, your third option for Self Delete however makes sense but if I don't know you or if you're already close to death, no.

How is the second one dumb? If let's say you knew a secret military strategy plan and you are forced to tell the enemy, you are risking everyone one's life involved in that plan.

attempt escape, or let them kill you
no Self Delete in there
what if you're a vital asset to the plan?

Escape is not all that easy, this isn't the movies or a video game or G.I. Joe.

They wouldn't kill you if you knew something important.

If you were a vital asset you wouldn't had got captured in the first place.

Self Delete to protect one's dignity isn't stupid either. Roman centurions killed themselves if their centuria was wiped out, because they felt it to be dishonorable if their men died and they were left alive. Naval captains often practice the code of "going down with the ship", because they preferred to die honorably if they led their ship and crew to be sunk and that they deserved death rather than capture.

Okay, escapes however, are possible, and torture can kill you. People who are vital assets can possibly become captured.

Compare the number of people that escaped and haven't escaped.

Not many people have died from torture itself. They usually mysteriously die after they give out the information.

Not likely, they would have enough experience to avoid such a thing. They would also Self Delete as well if captured.

And don't say someone will come to their rescue, that almost never happens. In some cases they will deny that you even exist.

They only deny your existence if you are important to national security. For any person who has been captured ever, I doubt they are.

Good morning, any hour now the op will come back and tell us about all the no money.

And if he were to get $90,000, it wouldn't ALL be spent on college, just most of it. Yeah there's a lot of student loans and stuff but would all that really come out to an entire 90,000?

You have all the options in the world, and you'd choose a stuffty Dell laptop?
If you have to get a laptop (you could easily get the best desktop as well as the best laptop for that money), then go with something better, other than a mid range built-to-last-1-month Dell piece of stuff.
