it was about a boy who was the son of a concentration camp overseer who befriended a jewish boy in the camp.
it ends with the son sneaking into the camp to be with his friend and they both end up getting gassed

 My favorite war, it's in my blood too... I mean it was spilled somewhere a long time ago.
My great grandfather lost his vision to a German grenade and later died from shrapnel. We still have his medals in a frame.
