Saying DotA is balanced is like saying tic-tac-toe has lots of strategic depth and cannot be solved by the greatest supercomputers. You could have picked almost any other game in the world and it would have been better. The (balance):(taken seriously for competition) ratio of DotA is the worst that perhaps has ever existed for any game or sport ever conceived in the history of mankind.

I'm obviously exaggerating a bit, but due to the incompetence of just about everyone that plays this game, Tryndamere and Akali (not so much anymore) steamroll pretty hard. Before her nerf, Evelynn was pubstompy as hell.
And a useless champion would be Twisted Fate. He can push and backdoor, sure, but he can't do much else.
