So you visit the local tavern to find directions, You approach the tavern keeper and ask him where you could find this city, he just looks at you and laughs, "Haha! A little twerp like you couldnt make it to the city! Let alone FIND it! Ahaha!"
You are obviously upset at the inn keeper, but hold back violence.
