I can agree that it is a little girls' show, but if you are an older male, so what? There should be no issue with simply just watching the show. Unless they pull their rooster out and rub it all over the screen while watching it, then yeah, there's something wrong with them.

sounds like it was pointed at this part: "Why do you people treat MLP like it's a loveuality?", and not this part: "It's just a show, if you like it, watch it. If someone doesn't like it, then fine, so be it."

not sure if you guys are overreacting, or I'm misreading.

I just don't get it how guys can like this.

The only way I could think of trying to explain it would be through perspective. Though really, trying to use a perspective example just makes me think I sound like a smartass.
Giving out reasons why we consider the show to be decent can be slashed if the other doesn't like those reasons or those reasons are things the other doesn't like. (such as, a cute show but you hate cute shows)

Plus, we've done that several times before, and I don't think I'm very good at getting a point across.

I know. Every fandom I've been involved in has always rubbed me the wrong way. Like the Sonic fandom, vocaloid fandom, etc.

leave because a handful of "bad eggs" do weird things?
why lose the fun because of people you don't know?

that's like quitting anime because a handful only watches it for tentacle research and hentai. as previously stated, practically every fandom (or most anything of interest to large groups) has these types of individuals.
