Did anyone else feel like the episode was a bit rushed into plot this week?

nah, to me it only felt rushed because the speed of the entire episode wasn't very consistent

when they showed the scene with Twilight training on the lake, I was expecting some awesome training montage, lol.

the entire episode itself though was pretty big and is sort of difficult to fit into just twenty-two minutes, i mean trixie basically enslaved all of ponyville and the scale of the episode made it seem as if it's some predicament between two kids who can't decide who gets to use the bathroom first

also, next week we outta find out about the mysterious episode 8
or at least when it airs, which should conflict with episode 9

Not really.

However, the story seemed like it was going to be another 2-part episode, with Trixie enslaving all of Ponyville with a power known as the Alicorn Amulet.

That would have been a much better premier.

The best part of the premier was that Spike actually did a thing which was important.

The second episode was 8000x better.

It might have, but I'm still okay with the premiere we had.

I was even beginning to believe Spike didn't seem to have much of an influence on the show anymore until the premiere. That was actually one of the best parts of it, in my opinion.

It's also nice to know that Spike now has an influence in the history of Equestria itself.
