Sometimes I wonder if the existence of our fandom is a good thing or not
Don't get me wrong, I love it and I thoroughly enjoy being a part of it. Still, I kinda miss the pre-pony Internet era. Things were a lot simpler back then.
The fandom has brought many good things, but I want to be able to subscribe to someone talented on YouTube without later realizing that he's banning everyone with a pony avatar from his Steam group. It's like there's this huge war all over the Internet and you don't really know who to trust, and that doesn't feel right. All the arguing and fecal matter everywhere sometimes makes me wish it was 2010 again.
Does anyone else feel this way sometimes?
I say it's a good way of finding out who's immature and unable to handle that people are able to enjoy themselves doing something unorthodox
I've almost entirely stopped making rude remarks about what people are doing because now I can sit back for a moment and say to myself, "dude, you get attacked at least twice a week for what you do, take a chill pill"
