okay, i watched double rainboom. various notes as i watched it.
the facial expression animations aren't very show-accurate (as in, they use them at wrong periods and they typically look weird). rainbow dash's VA has a terrible microphone in the beginning. twilight doesn't act like twlight at all. the rock-type music, when dash does stuff, isn't really placed well in many spots. the meme placement is awful. the smoke effect at 10min was, i say, too long. some clouds were upside down. the cartoon network alternate universe didn't really make much sense (though i did think the change in character design was interesting), channel hoping? and that they paused the animation to give us the CN disclaimer was dumb. it was rather cute when the ppg's jumped around Rainbow Dash though. pinkie pie's VA was pretty damn impressive. the friendship report was flatout terrible, lol, in the show it would have been made obvious about greed and whatnot. there was nothing leading anyone to think that was the lesson to be learned
all the memefaces were awful. it's hard to take the "story" seriously with all the bad fan-appealing material they put in it. some of popular culture references were cool though.
also, how is she suppose to even survive in SPACE? it doesn't matter that they are magical ponies, she would have been gasping for oxygen.
it was greatly advertised as an episode, and it didn't really much feel like an episode (excluding the entire section part where she jumped channels). a good portion of the animation was decent, but personally speaking i see many flaws in comparison to the real show. it is a fan-animation for college with a very small team, so really it shouldn't be unexpected. in the end, i was a tad disappointed thinking it might be a serious film. but, it was an interesting youtube video
