https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIvStU7MQZgI'm just disappointed at the whole "baby steps" thing at the end. It would have been really cool for Flutters' character if she kept being shy but got to sing on stage regularly. I feel like she undid all of the progress she made and by the end of the episode she's right back where she started.
I personally disagree, actually I think it proves that she is progressing instead of reverting. Throughout the episode she was shy of singing publicly, so she hid to keep her nerves under control. Once she was found out, she essentially had a nervous breakdown and ran home. After realizing she really did enjoy the behind-the-scenes preforming, she gave it a true tryout by giving a special on-stage performance for her friends
only.
Her rejection is actually an intelligent decision on her part. She knew she wasn't feeling completely ready for it just yet, and instead of pushing herself too far she opts to adjust in "baby-steps", at her own pace. This aligns with her personality perfectly, and shows a bit of human nature. Individuals like her wouldn't feel completely ready for such performances, even after going through an event like that or having professional training. She will overcome it eventually, but we probably won't be seeing it happen ourselves.
