I know for any fandom people make OCs but in this fandom they seemed to br used for love or stuffty fanfics.

An OC is basically trying to make a carbon copy of a thing pertaining to the show, in this case, a pony.
It basically makes it easy to assume it'd be stuffty.
Don't get me wrong, some OCs are okay, but should never be infused into anythign involving the origional.
