One of the things Bronies are quick to point out are the various high quality aspects of the show. It's true that the show is very good, but that doesn't totally explain the phenomenon. Personally I think there are three aspects that make it different.1. It's better than it should be. Shows like this are half hour toy commercials. They don't need to be good. The primary target audience can't really tell if it's good. If it's not absolutely terrible it will do everything the people paying the bills want it to do. Lauren Faust gets a lot of well deserved credit for making something good for the sake of making something good. She also had the help of several other talented writers, animators, artists, musicians, etc. that also deserve a lot of credit. Creating something good is good. Creating something good when you're confined to a genre and target age groups that should guarantee making something awful is genuinely noteworthy.2. It became a successful meme. Places like the /co/ board on 4chan invented things like Derpy Hooves and other silly pony stuff. Derpy and other things then got remixed and remade into other things over and over. Social momentum picked up and lots of people wanted to join in on the fun so they watch a few episodes and get hooked due to the aforementioned quality that is both high and surprising.3. A community developed. Equestria Daily, /r/mylittlepony, Ponychan, PMVs (Pony Music Videos) on YouTube and a thousand invasions of other related sites all create a sense of community and legitimacy for the subculture. By this point there are enough bronies that they can feed off one another and create several spinoff submemes thus cementing their place in the fabric of internet culture. Time will tell if it's here to stay, but it certainly could be if they keep releasing new seasons at the same high quality level while including the occasional wink and a nod to the Brony community like they did in the Equestria Girls commercial. In short it isn't just good, it is surprisingly good. Some people noticed and started having some fun. More people wanted to join in. Wash rinse repeat. Also, Twilight Sparkle is the greatest pony ever.
I'd like to point out the flaws of it, like the jagged edges and some whitebut what do I know, it looks great
I'm stuff at drawing people and animals.
You could practice by drawing simpler stuff.
An interesting quote I found related to "The Brony Phenomenon".
