It's possible to go about it without making it incredibly girly. It's Valentine's Day - the idea is to have someone to give a valentine to/spend time with someone special, etc., it's not necessarily exclusive to deep relationships.
or they could go the route of singles awareness day, which might be more amusing. either way, they could show off the various existing couples such as Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and perhaps the parents of the six.
