I know that feel bro, it's even worse when your total comes up to 29.95 and you have thirty dollars.
I had to stand there awkwardly and wait for 5 cents in change because I didn't want to tell him to keep the change because I thought he would take it as his tip.

Not really. I think in some states they can get paid below minimum wage and only get very small compensation for gas. Yeah walking a pizza up to your door isn't a hard job, but you should tip them just because they relay on it as part of their pay.
