Why does everyone like Ponies

I can see why people like the MLP show, but why the avatars?  We all (I'm assuming) enjoyed Lost while it lasted, but we don't have people running around with Lost avatars.  So why are people up in everyone's face about watching MLP?  The only conclusion I can figure out is that they're trying to be cool by band wagoning, but that just seems so unlikely.

in this forum that isnt unlikely at all, im sure we all love a show or two, but we dont all run around with avatars from our favorite show, do we? im sure if someone started a megathread and got a person or two to start using avatars from that lots of people would bandwagon along :|

Very unlikely. Just because you don't admit and accept that we like a show, you think that we just follow others around trying to be cool. Granted, a few people do that, but not everybody.

This is a completely valid argument.

I don't approve of putting it in people's faces.

But using it as an avatar isn't saying, "WATCH THIS SHOW OR I WILL KILL YOU." It's saying, "Hey, I like this show!".
