Author Topic: Wallet's Scripting Class episode III: Revenge of the Script  (Read 8288 times)

I will probably host a server with the password ustream which will go mostly ignored. It's occasionally helpful for demonstrating the outcome of a script, but far less than you would expect. Of all the things you need to learn, the in-game consequences are generally the easiest to wrap your heads around using my words alone since you guys already know how to play BL.

yeah, same here. i have notepad++ already.

Doesn't it start like right now?

nevar!

Also the syntax link is to the file, Imodded to an alternate link, see if that works. If not, try logging out of mediafire.

i hope i can come to the last few of the classes. i know most of the stuff you're starting out with, but i want to learn how to do like TCPObjects and stuff.

Do we really need the class to be filmed?  Cause fraps is being a whore.  60 loving gigabytes being compressed takes forever.  Also, the colors are a little off.

In the future, I suggest just recording audio, maybe video for parts where you do screen share.

I cant figger out teh homwurk. :C

We don't really need any recordings of any kind whatever. Don't sweat it; it was your idea, remember?

re: the homework, if you help them it defeats the purpose since this is not assigned for the same reasons as school homework. That's so you do more learning than the teacher has time to help you with. Mine is more to teach you programmer-style problem solving which I literally can't teach you in a lecture; if you don't scratch your head for a full day or figure it out on your own, you shouldn't even bother working on it. It's not like I'm going to flunk you for not getting it. Understanding the answer without getting it on your own is better than nothing, but if that were as good as making you do it then I'd have just told you during class. Worst-case scenario, I will tell you at class time tomorrow.

Remember, your target is 2 lines of code (ending with a semicolon each) inside your function.

Well, I might not be able to make it to tonight's class, but if you send me the doc I can probably get most of it.
That also means I won't be recording anything, but I've kinda given up on that anyway.

If you miss a class the most important thing to do is try running the sample code in the doc for that day. The text itself is not going to say "stop and try this out", I do that in class. So as soon as you sort of know what it's supposed to do, you should put it in a script file and run it to really make sure you got it.

It's that time again :o
