If people trusted 30k IDs as much as they might much lower ids, the drama section would have 3x as many threads about admin abuse and trust abuse and griefing complaints and things like that. I know I sometimes abused admin when I was new, just because I didn't really know about what responsibilities an admin is supposed to uphold.
Discriminating by ID is a healty precaution and an important tool for server administrators.
