Author Topic: Video cards compatible with this model?  (Read 1116 times)

So after realizing how long it would take to raise 600+ dollars, I've decided to upgrade the one im using.
my grandpas computer is like a decade old but someone upgraded the gpu so now it runs next-gen games.

sooooooo

what good video cards are compatible with it, and how would i be able to upgrade the RAM
my max budget for a video card is 130, because thats exactly how much i have.

>eMachines
>Intel GMA 950
Go to a junkyard and find a graphics card that fits in any of your expansion slots. It doesn't matter what it is, everything will be an improvement.
EDIT: Jokes aside, I've found a card that suits your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121435
It's an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti, $130 with rebate and free shipping.
I also found an ATi Radeon 6770 for $130, without rebate and excluding shipping:

EDIT2: How powerful is your power supply? Since it's a stuffty OEM computer there's a chance it's not able to handle the cards.

You don't need 12 GB RAM, and the HD6570 is a low to mid-end card.

I can think of why i need 12gb. Your obviously an idiot.
What the hell is an HD6570. Its a raedon, and it was 350$ to add. A 5770 is 120$. You really are ignorant.

Post a picture of your task manager showing all 12gb utilized.

ATi started using the 'HD' prefix on their Radeon cards starting with the 2xxx-series (I think). The HD 6570 costs $75 on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102934&cm_re=Radeon_6570-_-14-102-934-_-Product
If you paid $350 for that then you must've gotten ripped. You can get a 6970 for that money.

That isnt my video card. I order from a local store, which is known for selling custom Gcards and what not. It may be a HD6570, but it is a stuff ton better then that stuff on newegg.

An HD 6570 is an HD 6570 and nothing else. Perhaps you misread the specifications and it's an HD 6970.
