Im pretty sure it pays the artists with the proceeds from the ads and subscriptions

So we have to pay for this like a monthly cost for a subscription?

Nope.avi, it says there is an assload of ads to take care of that.

Parks wouldn't announce an exact time for launch, but did tell us that the service will offer three pricing plans, including the free, ad-supported version that made it such a hit in its native Europe

I guess, I'll just stick with my method of getting music...

Sounds completely legit! :D
Also, you don't download the songs, If I am reading it correctly.
You just listen to them via the client, so its kinda like a radio that you get to pick the songs with adverts.
So basically, nothing new, just easier to use.
(I could be wrong about this, but this is what I interpreted)

What the forget is spotify? The original poster leaves no loving information.
Using Google is pretty tough, apparently.

Well for one its not that hard to search for what it is if you dont already know

Anyway its a free (and legal) peer2peer music sharing application that allows you to instantly listen to music (I think its instant not sure).
It's pretty much near instant.  If you have a slow connection you might have to load it for a bit but I think it caches it once its downloaded.  It doesn't download into mp3s as far as I know, though, its just like an on-demand radio.

I remember using a proxy to use it in its early days.  It was real nice.

Wait, are the adverts just like little images in the program or are they audio adverts that play at the end of every few songs?

If its audio adverts I'm not signing on for that B.S.

Imagine if every topic you came into, the title would state the name of a game or something.
And instead of including a description, pictures, instead you got a link to google.
You can't tell me that wouldn't be annoying.

If I came into every topic and they all had a link to an article on the game or topic, no, I wouldnt be annoyed

It doesn't have to be a link to google.  Even then, OP provided a link to an article, and the article clearly states what Spotify is.

If you really still can't understand it, it's not hard to open up Google or select the word in Chrome, right click it and click "Search (x) in Google..."

Grooveshark is a broken piece of stuff. The search is broken, most of the songs I want to hear are broken, it has an ugly interface and it's unreliable (And browser based, Spotify is a downloadable program.)

The songs are just messy.  Low quality mostly.  I hate low-quality audio.  I tried some Beats in Best Buy today and they were great.

Yes, I need CD quality.
