We say "stealing ideas" but nothing is actually being physically removed from anyone else. What you're talking about is "copyright infringement" in legalese, which you'll notice doesn't really refer to any kind of "taking" in its wording.

Language is fun.  :cookieMonster:

Sorry to go off-topic. And it is off-topic, since as I said before, I'm cool with all of this, especially if the name gets changed.

Anyway "RoB 2.1" would be a bad idea even if you were me, because the ".1" implies an update on the ver. 2 code, and not a rewrite.

You actually copyrighted it?
Intresting.

I really meant to say that when I wanted it to go truly public.
In reality, this means tomarow night at the latest.

No permission > took the name & concept > stolen

Go be dumb somewhere else today
Copyright infringement ISN'T theft.

I think everyone else just proved that you were wrong, so i guess i don't need to.

sorry, better luck next time bub

Copyright infringement ISN'T theft.
You should come around the server sometime, check it out.

forget wallet lol.
i say take anyone's stuff and do with it as you please.
dont even give him credits.

All creative works are considered copyrighted immediately in most of the civilized world, including the US. The copyright owner is the one who can demonstrate the oldest record of having come up with it. Companies usually register them when they're expected to be used commercially so that there's a very public and very dated record which no one can possibly argue with. This doesn't make registering copyrights with any authority absolutely necessary... just financially prudent. Better yet, instead of taking legal advice from me, talk to a copyright lawyer.

Anyway I was talking about legal definitions, not anything going on here. I wasn't implying anything about RoB, and I apologized for going off-topic.

edit: how mad would you be if I released RoB after you went to all the trouble of reverse-engineering it.  :cookieMonster:

What the hell

Do I even have to say anything to that? Seriously.

That's a pretty stupid idea.

Well, noone thought you ever would.
Granted having it public might ruin it for everyone as it becomes decentralized.
Ten servers with two people on each isn't as fun as one server with twenty people.

Why would I do that?
I'm not trying to be an starfish lol.

Okay, everything except selling properties and enginerring is implimented.
However for some reason this server just doesn't seem to get the same popularity as the old RoB.
Maybe I just need to allow time for people to get attached to their lots.

It was a dedi when I saw it, and dedicated servers dont usually get much attention because everyone knows itll be up in three hours, so why bother joining now.

So then the server get's really popular in three hours?
