Due to the zango-ish text that is shared by both name lists, I'd assume they are either the same person or closely related.

of course he's fake.
he claimed he got his key from youtube. If this was true, it would be deactivated by now.

I had Kalphiter look up Deadmau5's IP and it gives me 86.130.194.178 among other similar IPs.
This indicates the person lives in the UK around the london region. If this person was indeed Deadmau5, the IPs would be radically different yet they are not in this case. It just indicates the person owns a laptop.
This is pretty much 100% proof.

he isn't. here's my side of the story.
Last night when this was posted I got the Hamachi info from Myst last night. I got on and I spawned right in front of his head. They covered the eyes in lightstone and such and he says, "Tom, lets to to Blockland. You host. I show him the New Years' Eve party and multitasked over to facebook with Mack (yes, even though he thinks he's fake.) and he joined. I granted him admin and he loaded up his cube. He did a sync with the lights to, "Strobe." Mack and I were impressed. Now, deadmau5 told us that he got the key from a youtuber, and the name, "Deadmau5 (Robin Hoodl)" was to confirm he got the key. Mack invites Monocole to the server and he was like, "Fake." So it ended with a discussion of bikes on skype with Mack.
Today, we play MC and BL alone at around 10 AM my time, my server started to forget up so Seventh had a server up. Seventh was like, "Is this really him?" we had little info at the time, so we unofficially said yes. Deadmau5, others, and I played for awhile and did hamachi minecraft. Sev got suspicious and started questioning him. He said he will go on tinychat, since his Skype list is, "full". We waited literally and hour, and SeventhSanwich's usual self pops in and starts dismissing him as a fake with a webcam error which made him believe he was a fake. So, after 15 minutes of bugging him, he joins a non-hamachi server called "opencraft.tk". As soon as I spawned he had the mau5 ears and skin. The bugging took place on a Blockland server. Sev still dismisses after going to see him on it. He wanted him to join my server, because he believed opencraft.tk was a modded server for this "fake" to be used.
After all that, I gave Sev the ip of his client from last night. He told us the first night he is stuck in Scotland (as we all know.)
tl;dr - The ID, 12457, is Joel "deadmau5" Zimmerman.
