I am pretty sure every modal of the xbox 360 has about the same tech specs.

no. an xbox 360 elite is much more capable at handling higher end games than say an xbox from when it was released. it's like comparing a macbook from 2005 to a macbook from today, same model but with better hardware.

You forget that when you look at the game you look at the graphics first and foremost. Everything else follows suit.
Edit: And I mean this from a visual perspective.
