I was playing a public 3v3 conquest domination game, and one of the guys on our team went afk and the other team had three guys

no it got rocketed to very low health and grenades do some slight damage

actually I slightly take that back, using an LMG with a bipod and just holding the trigger is an ok idea if there's a bunch of enemies to shoot at

with a pistol, the recoil isn't as bad, so just shooting isn't as terrible an idea, but still, you should be able to kill someone with the nine (?) bullets that an M1911 holds

LMGs are meant for spraying. Put on the Squad suppression bonus and it makes you a bitch to kill. I always love when friends cover me by spraying with lmgs so i have a chance to run up or flank the enemy.
