Why is it you people always throw the "This isn't halo-land/call of duty-land" but never once have I seen anyone say anything about a half-life add-on.

Because they're hypocrites.
Honestly I don't care if add-ons are from one game or another. It doesn't matter to me because all I ever download are brickpacks, tools, events, and colorsets. Occasionally I'll download some weapons to goof off with but it doesn't matter to me what game they're from.

I never seen any Half Life add ons and if I did I would still complain.
