how to make add-ons

I am really oblivious to what goes on in blockland and so i need some help as how to make an add-on. Like what program should i use for maps and other add-ons? and anything else would be greatly appreciated.

To make models for your mods, Use Blender, Or milkshape [Blenders Free][Milkshapes 20$]
To make scripts, use Notepad.
To make maps Download the add-on version of mission editer, And follow ostinyos mapping tutroial
