Author Topic: If you were Immortal...  (Read 4813 times)

I've always had the secret wish to be able to chop my head off and walk around town Dead Space style, causing everyone to freak the forget out

That's malicious thinking!

Id probably get a lovechange and live the rest of my life as a researchstar.

I would probably never pay for anything again

My definition of immortal:
Not able to be killed by aging, faulty body parts or disease.
Drink and get high forever?
Cool.

Actually, even with the consequences you people are proclaiming I still would really be willing to trade most things to become immortal. Eventually If I would not be able to control my emotions I would edit my genetic code and delete the very information that allows me too feel such a thing.

After that I would wait trillions of years until the last stars of the universe are extinguished; afterwards I'll construct my own galaxy and life on it. I would create a galactic mausoleum in the center of the galaxy.
When a sentient dies it is brought there to the illustrious object which is pulling with immense gravitational forces that bond the very chains of the galaxy together, and buried there within the catacombs upon catacombs like a labyrinth of tombs. I would sit in the very center of it, surrounded with my own creations.

There would be pipes stretching from the surface of the object, detecting EM patterns and amplifying them through out the chambers of the cemetery world like the pipes of an organ transporting ancient sounds that are perhaps thousands of years old by the time I'll hear them.

Yes, but only if i could turn it off when i wanted to die.

Oh and there is one big downside. You could be thrown in jail for the rest of your life, possibly tortured and there is nothing you can do about it.
You could attack a guard, grab his key and run out.

Visit every country in the world, even the hostile ones. Go strolling through a mine field :D

Oh my god this.

And a "life sentence" is typically 70 or so years.

You'll still feel the pain when they attempt to cut off you genitals and eat them thinking they would gain your power through it.

I really don't know what I'd do. Maybe I'd spend my life trying new things. Maybe I'd become an astronaut or something. But I'd probably be very depressed, knowing that all of my colleges and family would eventually die. If I ever wanted to have a family, I would know that I'd always outlive my children and my spouse. It just depends.

How would you do that if you were completely restrained?

You also can wait until civilization dies and the bars begin to rust.
