If I understand what's going on correctly, it's the amount of money the United States can owe without defaulting on its loans.

I do not follow these things nor do I want to. I assumed it was the highest possible amount of debt before something happens but I was trying to get a real answer, instead of something like you posted.

No they won't, anyone who payed attention to the situation knows how loving stupid the republicans were acting this entire time. The only canidates anyone will almost take seriously is Gingrich or Romney but, even then, Obama has his 2nd term in the bag, there's just no way anyone else is getting in office.
