Upside-down slate is actually possible and pretty cool once you get down to it.

Badspot made some faces invisible to improve game performance. He never expected anyone to turn them upside down, because quite frankly they are boring as hell upside-down. The ceilings are angled so you can't build on them, and you can't build on a single loaded save because all the bricks are floating.

Sorry, can't release Map_KitchenUpsideDown now, badspot made the bottom floor invisible, making it look really glitchy.
