Quick question about terrain.

For terrain I usually use 8x8 cubescape and add in 4x4 cubes if I get around to it.

Cube scape with 4x4's is by far the most efficient way to make a cubescape. Larger bricks, unlike 2x2's, will create a lot less lag and you will have your server up faster than before.
I don't recommend ramps because it just make the terrain look very spammy (some examples are in Badspot's block party).
