No, silly. I keep only the shopkeepers alive, but I loot their shops.
Gear:
Gambling in Fallout New Vegas is amazing.
After winning 5k in Blackjack they gave me a reinforced combat armor in the Gomorrah.
Sadly they kicked me out at 9k.
Oh and I started with 100 chips.

I find it fun being good, but perhaps more fun being evil.
It's very tragic if you kill the wrong person however, like the last person in the Wasteland who can sell you ammunition.
Littledude:
I like going around and just killing people for the heel of it sometimes, but I often find it more rewarding to be good in games.
