Lockpicks break easier on a console, from my experience.

How do you do your lockpicking?
do you just pick a random spot and slam it or do you lightly tap the spot and find the unlocking area?

My picks only break on 75+ locks. I had about 10 picks, but I went to unlock a very hard lock and ended up breaking about 6 of them
Regulith:
In my experience you should easily be able to slowly build up your collection of picks to a decent number before you reach the point where your Lockpick skill is high enough for you to attempt those levels of locks
Gear:
Well I don't have any problems with picking locks-
Got 100 bobby pins.

Well yeah it's default.
Anyways I beated honest hearts and it didn't take long because the main quest is ridicolously short.
Atleast I got a few badass items : the desert ranger armor , the 12.7mm service rifle and the unique M1911.
Currently I'm trying to get most unique firearms into my possession.
The next ones on my list are the mysterious magnum , mercy and La longue carbine.
After that I will get some of the Gun Runner's Arsenal unique weapons and search for the unique varmint rifle maybe.
