Simply because they are all in a cave and there are A LOT OF THEM.
I used YCS 186 , the unique gauss gun which does 438 DPS , and it killed a single deathclaw with 3-4 shots because of their high DT and health.
I had to use a fatman to kill most of the deathclaws.
There were atleast 20 of them in a cave not including the deathclaw mother and the legendary deathclaw.
Man I had enclave power armor , was level 41 and they still killed me in a few hits.

Where can you find a Fatman + Nukes in new Vegas? I know they both exist.

there really rare but you will find them if you explore.
it's not something you can just find right away on your own, but here is a guide to find it.

The Gun Runner's Arsenal addon also adds a unique Fatman and new , purchaseable mininukes.
This includes a bigger mininuke version that does an even bigger explosion-

However I didn't buy this unique fatman yet because I it costs over 26k caps and I already bought a few other unique Gun Runner weapons that were so expensive.
I really like how the bozar does extremly high damaging crits~

The deathclaws in the cave can't reach you up there
