I'm addicted to creating godlike creatures in arena and commanding an army of dwarves upon them. The amount of death and gore is unbelievable. Ripped off limbs, blood everywhere etc..

it's fun because instead of every game with either canned death animations, set gibs for only a few things or boring ragdolls, dwarf fortress allows (and suggests) you to piece apart every last fleshy creature lovingly crafted by Armok for both you and his enjoyment.
