should have put up some better defence before the first seige. By the time my first seige hit, I had a massive area walled off with a moat, 3 bridges with levers to seal myself off if need be, and a stuffload of cage traps. It's only now that i'm training 7 or so marksdwarfs

I have several Bridges going through my fort, The one that seals the fortress completely is up so the Goblins cant get in, I have a 200x200 Wood stockpile completely filled so as long as im self sufficient ill be ok?
I dont really understand the military thow, I have a barracks and ive set all my dwarfs to train so eventually they should become legendary in time?

Well then you should be able to crush a massive chuck of their army just by raising and lowering the bridge over and over.
Yeah they will, but it'll take a loong time. What sort of dwarfs are you training?

My only Sword Dwarf and Legendary Metalcrafter just got killed by a guy who went berserk...
So now im only training Axe and Mace Dwarfs
