Everything. |

Everything. --- End quote --- In a lot of the worlds the ocean freezes at night, making swimming difficult. In the current version of dwarf fortress you need steady food and drink, which basically requires combat. Training thrower takes forever. Being a thrower from the start means that you won't get in much melee combat, which means you will only trains your shield, armor, and dodging skill from ranged attacks. It just so happens that ranged attacks are the most evil attacks and you really want to train your defensive skills quickly. EDIT: But after you are already proficient at combat, throwing rocks. |
