I've designated some areas for work and got some stockpiles of wood, food, stone and gems but I have no idea what to do with them. Is it possible to build walls or do I have to carve out a room-shaped cave? --- End quote --- http://afteractionreporter.com/2009/02/09/the-complete-and-utter-newby-tutorial-for-dwarf-fortress-part-1-wtf/ --- Quote from: Demian on August 15, 2011, 12:53:34 PM ---Considering that the video explaining the "basics" of the game is longer than most of the mainstream movies and actual gameplay starts at around 45 minutes, this game has far too much micromanagement for me. --- End quote --- http://afteractionreporter.com/2009/02/09/the-complete-and-utter-newby-tutorial-for-dwarf-fortress-part-1-wtf/ |

| Littledude:
what I mean by the n's and V's is what you see in this picture. |
| Jacob/Lee:
The n's are haunted grasslands IIRC, the V's and those rack things are badlands. I see 2 badlands, an ocean, mountains and plains/forests and humans. And a river. I've never used that texture pack before so I'm probably wrong on some of it. |
