Dwarf Fortress Megathread! - Necro'd enough to count as a vampire

For anyone using the Lazy Newb Pack, a good utility to use is SoundSense. It adds nice music, and it acts as a really good warning for anything going on in the fort. Basically boosts your awareness throughout the entire fort via sound. Pretty useful.

I was going around a village looking for people that were alone so I could kill them. Turns out there was a furry in one of the buildings. It was a cat twisted into humanoid form with scales and deadly spittle. Needless to say, I died.

I found a giant troll-thing being held prisoner in a castle before. I got it to join me and it beat people with its copper knife.
