Alright, I think of it as a balance to companions randomly leaving and having to fight hordes of bogeymen.

Is 40d a version, and if so, how old is it?
Also, I love Dwarf Fortress, because we can share experiences for thousands of pages and still have unique and exiting stories to read. In other games it's like, "I got the hat." or "I beat the campaign." In DF, it's like, "I got my hand bitten off by a bogeyman, but I reclaimed it and smashed his skull in with it." or "I was journeying with my wrestler and got dismantled by a colossus."

Yeah, it is the version before 2010. It was the update past the time of Boatmurdered and the one before the newest.
