The core multiplayer gameplay has been likened to a spiritual combination of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but with several major additions.
 - Each Prestige now has 80 levels.
 - New, changed and removed perks, as well as the re-inclusion of Overkill
 - Weapon Proficiencies allow for further class customization.
 - Camouflage can now be applied to secondary weapons.
 - 3 strike packages to choose from: Assault, Support, and Specialist
 - Strike Chain, similar to killstreaks from previous games
 - New gametype called Kill Confirmed
 - Players have the ability to scroll pointstreak rewards.
 - There is now a visible pointstreak counter.
 - Players' pointstreaks restart after their third pointstreak reward is reached without needing to die.
 - Survival Mode

Well apparently Prestige edition isn't coming out. Hardend is, and it's 100 bucks now to make up for no prestige.

Hardened edition includes:
 - Modern Warfare 3 in a Steelbook Case
 - 1 year of Call of Duty: ELITE membership (map packs included)
 - Special Founder status on Call of Duty: ELITE
 - Animated Timeline Theme (PS3 exclusive)
 - Juggernaut outfit for avatar (Xbox 360 exclusive)
 - Limited Edition Collectable Field Journal

I don't like the collectors editions of the game. It's just a higher cost with eye candy/useless stuff like a year of ELITE (even though it includes all game DLC free.)

Say you want to go to the MW3 site and type in modernwarfare3.com in the url bar. What comes up is a supposedly hacked fansite for MW3 plastered with statements along the lines of MW3 is copypasta from MW2. A few days later the website linked directly to the BF3 homepage. Now it's an error.

Activision sued the creator of the website, Anthony Abraham, on copyright claims, which is why it's an error.

In other legal news concerning CoD, Jason West and Vince Zampella (the guys fired for "consorting with EA" in a richard move by activision) teamed up with EA and recently tried to sue activision for some unpaid royalties.  Activison counter-sued claiming that EA tried to steam West and Zampella (richard move number 2.) An LA judge finally set the trial date for May 2, 2012. So it'll be a few months before we find out what happens.
