Is there any way to disable the ability to spawn items?

No. It belongs in help.
He's asking for a way to disable it. that's what help is for. general mod and coding help is for ADDONS not the game itself.

But it would require a mod to overwrite or block the function from been called for certain players.
So it sorta does :S

Noedit: I can probably make something to block it, although would you want it blocking any form of item pickup/dropping, or certain players allowed to pick up items, or if a brick is owned by a certain player, and any mods your running to enable the pickup of said items.
Pm me the circumstances or something and ile see what i can do when ime next free

This doesn't belong in coding help, its been done, and can be used.
Hes asking for help finding an addon not trying to make his own.
