| Wait, are blockland servers proxy servers? |

oi, my mom is wondering if it's a proxy server, and i don't know if it's bad or not. |
| Chrono:
No. Proxy servers listen for an address from a client, connect to that address, get all the HTTP information from the server, and sends all that information to the client. Blockland doesn't even come close to that. On top of all this, proxy servers aren't even bad. |
| KickFlow:
So then, what does blockland do? I always thought a user sets up a server, using their internet, then people connect to your "internet" |

I always thought a user sets up a server, using their internet, then people connect to your "internet" --- End quote --- The user does set up a server, using their internet, and people do connect to your computer. But it's still not a proxy server. Blockland server: Sends data from itself to connected clients, including networked objects (bricks, players, vehicles), ping, and commands (messages, prints, etc), and allowing the client to send controls and commands to itself. Proxy server: Only receives and address from the client. Only sends data from that address back to the client. |

another thing, added to what Chrono's saying, there's no chance you can get hacked through blockland unless you download some malicious software someone, I don't know, links you to. Pretty much, if you're not stupid about your actions, you'll be fine. |
