Decrease health without ouch sound and damage flash

So how would I decrease a players health without the ouch sound and the damage flash?

sethealth I believe

Swollow:

if your health is decreased using sethealth it still has damage flash and pain, already tried

Amade:

You'd probably just have to not actually apply damage, and keep a variable that represents their health instead of using torque's health system.
