Controlling Server Lag

Mack Attack:
Hi, I had my map up and people kept leaving cause of lag and kept complaining about lag. Two people stated that the lag was due to " Brick Lag". However, there was only about 22,500 bricks. I've played city RPGs that had much more bricks and there were no people talking about lag. The map was the kitchen, would that be lagier than slate? Could it be my computer? I wasn't lagging much but my computer is really bad. Please leave any comments about how to reduce lag or why my server is lagging.

Its probably your computer
Or the people's computer they can't handle a lot of bricks if they have old cpus
pecon7:
Well, if it is actually "Brick Lag" then it simply means that the people coming to your server have underpowered computers that cannot handle 22k bricks. However another issue could simply be that your internet's up speed is slow, causing data from the server to the clients to not be sent fast enough.
MegaScientifical:
I don't lag from bricks, so that invalidates that anyone else can!

22.5k bricks lagged my old computer to forget. That combined with your internet, the ability to handle more than a few players, and that's likely the difference. Nothing is created equal. Press Ctrl+N while hosting and see what's going on with the network, it's probably full.

Your computer is the problem or your internet. You should just buy Kalphiter's Server Hosting =p
