I know a number of African-American folks at the market I go to. Some of them own a small restaurant, family-run, and they are some of the funniest, kindest, gentlest people I know. It's predominantly owned by the matriarch, who works with her daughter and granddaughter, all are fairly young. She obviously got pregnant in her teen years, her daughter a little later than her, though her grand daughter is yet to bear a child. They have good food there, indeed. Very good. Very sweet people, too.
Down the line from them is a small bakery, also family-run, Italian-Swedish who are also some of the funniest, kindest, and gentlest people I know. It's also owned and run by the matriarch, much older than the first group, with a son in his mid to late 20s. I think he's a homoloveual. Not quite sure why, but something about him just gives it off. Plus I think he was hitting on me once, but that's not important. The point is, people would be much nicer if they all owned restaurants. Maybe. Or maybe people just shouldn't be presumptuous and shouldn't stereotype others. Afterall, treat a man as he seems to be, and thus he shall be. But treat a man as he can be, and he may very well become it. Or something like that. They have good baked goods there. The sons not that bad looking, either. But that's hardly the point.
...On reflection I'm not quite sure what my point was in the first place. Hm. :o
