Modeling & Texturing with Blender 2.5 - Animating & Exporting with 2.49

Since the DTS Exporter only works with Blender 2.49, I've read some people model and such in 2.5, then animate it and export with 2.49.

How exactly would I go about using 2.49 just to export and animate? Would I have to uninstall 2.5 and reinstall 2.49 everytime I wish to export, or is there some kind of workaround for this?

Thank you. I already know how to export and animate, I just wanted to know about having both installed since I find 2.5's interface and layout much better.
